Getting started

Add a client's site

How agencies get access to a client's Search Console.

On the Agency plan you can add up to 10 sites. For a client's site you don't need their password: the client gives your Google account access in their own Search Console.

Ask your client to add you

  1. Your client opens Search ConsoleThey choose the site, then Settings, then Users and permissions.
  2. They add your Google accountThey click Add user, enter the email of the Google account you connect to DiscoverGap, and choose Restricted or Full. Restricted is enough: we only read figures.
  3. You add the siteWithin a few minutes the site appears on your Sites page under that Google account. Click Add.

For Google Analytics, the client adds the same email to their GA4 property with the Viewer role (Admin, Property access management).

Good practice with client data

  • Only add sites your client has agreed to. You're responsible for having their permission.
  • When a client leaves, remove their site. Its figures are deleted from DiscoverGap.
  • Share results with a client report link instead of screenshots of your account.
